FILLING UP AN EMPTY ROOM
– Video and Print
A video documenting a set of repetitive actions in sixteen frames. Every frame is a short loop of myself adding one or more objects to the installation until the empty room is filled. A physical categorisation of all my belongings. Shorter loops are being added in time and the sound builds up to a rhythm of noise. This structural chaos is reproduced in a printed form by overprinting stills from the video using risograph printing. For each small poster a new image is overprinted to illustrate the time span so the final poster is a cluster of coloured prints. Finally, these smaller prints are reproduced in a large format poster as texture wrapped around three-dimensional shapes.
